Let’s celebrate Dr. Seuss and Read Across America Day on Friday, March 2nd!
Monday – wear a hat (like that crazy cat)
Tuesday – wear wacky socks in honor of “Fox in Socks”
Wednesday – wear a shirt that others can read
Thursday – wear sunglasses for reading in the sun with your class, weather permitting!
Friday – come to school dressed as a character from a book that you love. Be ready to march in the parade and celebrate READING!

Tuesday, February 27th at 6:00 pm — PTA Meeting and Musical Performance

4th and 5th Graders will perform a concert featuring some of music’s greatest heroes.

PTA Meeting will follow. Mike Ellis of Ellis Architects will be informing us about the upcoming renovations at Verner.

Saturday, March 3rd from 9-11 am — Verner Grounds Clean-Up

Sunday, March 4^th 1:00 — Kids Day at UA Tennis Match (Free Pizza, Bounce House and Free squishies for first 75 kids)

Tuesday, March 6^th from 4:00-8:00 pm — Taziki’s Spirit Night

Tuesday, April 3^rd 5:00-8:00 pm — McDonald’s Hotcakes and Sausage Spirit Night

Tomorrow is Team Up For Kindness Day!

Wear your favorite team jersey or shirt to school!

TOMORROW – School picture orders are due. If you choose a package, please send money in the enclosed envelope. If you do not want to order, send the proofs back to school. Checks should be made to Bill Miller Photography.

Tuesday, November 14th – 6:00-7:00 pm Family Counseling Service invites you to a seminar on “Aggression: What to do if your child begins to show the signs of becoming a bully?” The presentation will be held at FCS, 2020 Paul W. Bryant Drive. Visit www.counselingservice.org for more information

SPIRIT NIGHT

TOMORROW is Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A from 3-8. Take a night off from cooking while supporting Verner! A portion of the night’s sales goes straight back to the school so come hungry and invite your family and friends!

BOOK FAIR

Book fair is schedule next week, October 2nd-6th. A green form was sent home with your child’s schedule. If you are unable to attend during the scheduled time you are more than welcome to come before or after school to shop. The Book Fair opens at 7:45 and lasts until 3:15. Shopping will end at 12:00 on Friday.

BOX TOPS

The fall Box Tops contest has begun and will run through October 6th. The contest is between classrooms with the winner receiving a pizza and popsicle party. Please neatly clip your tops and put them in a Ziploc with your child’s name, grade and homeroom teacher on the bag. Also, make sure the Box Tops aren’t expired!

YEARBOOK

Verner yearbooks and yearbook ads are now on sale for the 2017-2018 school year. All sales are conducted online at www.balfour.com.

Yearbooks are $35 if ordered by November 1st. Starting November 1st, they will be $40.
Each yearbook includes a name stamp on front. Please include first and last name only for stamp.
