The Verner Weekly: Upcoming Dates and Reminders

Mark your calendar for the following events!

October 3rd-7th:  Book Fair this week!  Check with your teacher for your child’s time to visit the Book Fair or stop by before or after school.

**Also, check out the remaining slots to volunteer!  This is the primary fundraiser for our library. Your help is so important!  Thank you for your help!!

October 3rd: Grandparent’s Day – Invite a Grandparent or Special Friend for lunch!

October 5th: National Walk/Bike to School Day. Make plans to form and/or join other family and friends and walk to school!

October 7th: Don’t forget to send in your Box Tops! Every time a grade level collects 300 Box Tops, a Tiki is added to a tower.  The grade level with the highest Tiki Tower wins the Box Top Trophy!

October 10th: Columbus Day – No school for students

October 25th: PTA Meeting; We will enjoy special “BOO”tiful music by Kindergarten and 2nd grade!

Thursday, September 22nd– Picture Day
Friday, September 23rd– Grandparent’s Day – Invite a Grandparent or Special Friend for lunch!
Monday, September 26th– Take a night off from cooking!  Come to Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A from 5:00-8:00 pm.  Tell them that you are supporting Verner Elementary and a portion of the proceeds come back to Verner!

Verner T-Shirts: A limited quantity of Verner t-shirts are available for sale at the front desk for $15.

Grandparents/Special Friends Day Tomorrow (9/25)

Grandparents/Special Friends Day is tomorrow, Friday, September 25. Grandparents and special friends are invited to lunch and for a visit in the classroom before or after lunch. Attached is a copy of the flyer that was sent home with students several weeks ago. Just let your child’s teacher know who is coming.

All grandparents and special friends are invited to become a Verner VIP (Verner Investment Program), a program that funds both fun and functional resources for Verner and its students (i.e. reading awards, computer teacher, textbooks)!!! Grandparents/Special Friends can join VIP while visiting Verner tomorrow for lunch. VIP representatives will be available to help them join.

Grandparents/Special Friends Days Scheduled During September

Grandparents are special everyday at Verner but we want to honor them on our two Grandparents/Special Friends Days. Grandparents and special friends are invited to lunch and for a visit in the classroom before or after lunch on Monday, September 14 or Friday, September 25. Attached is a copy of the flyer that was sent home with students last week. Just let your child’s teacher know who is coming.
